In our personal and professional lives, a crisis either makes us strong or tears us apart. It's a choice. It's what we make of what happens that may or may not open doors of opportunity. Today, as we walk through times of crisis and uncertainty, it's easy to fall into existential depression or become overwhelmed by expectations. We may think 'It's too much, I can't do it' or 'I can't be bothered anymore' and give up too early. It takes rare courage and inspiration to recognise these times as a gift - an opportunity to re-evaluate purpose and choices and discover inner power and value. This is a life skill not taught at school or strategic learning programmes; it involves a deeper reflection, a re-education and experience of spirit and its values. It's where the journey begins...of who I think I am and who I know I am.
A new way of living emerges as we choose to take up the challenge of re-creating our inner and outer environments. This inspires the courage to 'see' things differently; 'behave' differently and 'act' differently so that we can impact our environments in the best possible way.

Are you ready to retreat?
The retreat process will include a creative blend of reflection, conversation, active engagement, meditation and play through which you will be able to:
- Meet and network with like-minded young adults (spiritually progressive, hope-driven, courageous)
- De-stress in an environment that will support your spiritual replenishment
- Connect with your inner strengths and values and understands what holds you back
- Equip yourself with practical spiritual tools and develop a personal road map for expressing your potential.
The retreat BEGINS on FRIDAY 12 JUNE, 2009 from 6 pm onwards and ENDS on SUNDAY 14 JUNE, 2009 at 4pm. Please block off these dates in your diary.
Venue: Peace Village - A Sanctuary
Peace Village is located in Haines Fall, Upstate New York and is a place where relaxation comes easily. People come here to learn new things about themselves, to enjoy silence and solitude and to find peace of mind. It's also a place to meet others who are interested in integrating a spiritual dimension into their lives. As one retreat guest remarked: "Peace Village is the spa for the soul! The beautiful 300 acre campus reflects and respects all that is good about the mountains of upstate New York - fresh air, quiet, close to nature. Stay comfortable and safe in this nurturing and spiritual atmosphere.
The retreat is organized by the USA and Canada representatives of the International Youth Forum, Brahma Kumaris, a global network of about 8000 young adults, who are dedicated to supporting young people in exploring and developing their inner potential and its integration and expression in everyday life.
There is NO CHARGE for this event in accordance with the principles of the Brahma Kumaris that spiritual knowledge is a basic right of every human being and opportunities should be provided for everyone to develop their own spiritual potential, regardless of background or financial circumstances. Voluntary donations are welcome.
